WILPF EVENTSEvery first Saturday of the month: 9:30 A.M. WILPF Boston Monthly meeting at Community Church, 565 Boylston Street, Copley Square
The collection of portraits for the PEACE WOMEN GALLERY which was displayed at the Boston Social Forum in July, 2004 was a lovely tribute to women both better known and not so well known. This was inspired by the world wide project to suggest the names of 1000 women of peace for the Nobel Peace Prize. See the list of Peace Women!

WILPF has been a long time supporter of
CEDAW
at every level of
its organization. Along with other women's and human rights
organizations, WILFP is actively engaged in several strategies
designed to make CEDAW more meaningful to women around the world. Here at our Branch,
we've already committed to lobbying Sen. Kerry to push for
ratification in the Senate. We may be able to create the
opportunity to take this initiative a step further and work to
make Massachusetts an example of the progressive application of
the CEDAW standard in the legal and economic context of the U.S.
